Treadmill desk: the experiment
Well…I experimented with the treadmill desk! I could use a regular table over the treadmill with Speed. I had a sheet of 70 easy math facts for him to do, 7 lines of 10 problems. I asked him to do a line of problems changing the speed at each line. He enjoyed the novelty of it. It didn’t hold his attention as much as I thought it would. By the fourth problem he would just stand and let his feet get carried to the end of the treadmill or do a little dance on it. Then he became a little obsessed in trying to change the speed.
Then I put on ABBA! Dancing Queen. He found a beat and I put the speed up to 1 m/h and he started to get a little lost in his work. Now I am on a mission to find the right music and combine it with the right speed. I also got a chance to do some work on my thighs..while in the work out room!
Chuckles wanted a turn too of course. She has been busy all afternoon. She downloaded some songs (that she got to know at camp) and is preparing a concert on the trampoline. Moments ago I spied on her out on the trampoline and she was in full swing practicing her moves. I have never seen her get into dance before. It was so fun to see her letting her hair down. That was one of my favorite past times as a child, making up dances to music. She has all sorts of music from my childhood on her CD. Xanadu and YMCA….I remember being in 3rd grade when those songs came out.
Now she has Speed all organized in her dance concert. He adores dancing and Chuckles has him completely under her control.
