Lego Star Wars II (PC game)
For Speed’s 6th birthday he received a lot of Lego. He has enjoyed putting it together with some help and has played with it a lot. Unfortunately, the finished pieces, especially the larger spaceships break very easily. So easily infact that we have been super gluing parts together.
(This is not particularly wise. The more we glue the pieces, the rougher he seems to play with the Lego. Not to mention that glued pieces can not be recycled as free lego pieces. If you do it we recommend the lock-tite gel as it doesn’t drip and stick your fingers together.)
Although Speed hasn’t seen the Star Wars II trilogy, he has read the early reader’s version of parts of the trilogy so he knows the main characters. I thought it would be fun for him to play the Lego Star Wars II video game so he could see his lego pieces in action.
Over the last couple of days we have been playing this game. We both absolutely love it. It is so much fun. It is very cool and follows the original story line. The characters are so cute and the game includes all the creatures and animals in the movie. You basically have to make your way through scenarios, based on different chapters in the story. It is so animated that it draws you in and is defintitely more fun than watching the movie. It is so interactive and there is a lot of problem solving going on (and battles against the bad guys) as you maneouver through the game.
Today he finished exploring “A New Hope”, chapter IV on the game so I thought it was time to see the first movie in the trilogy. We rented it from the library and watched it together. I stopped it every now and again to check that he knew what was going on and for the most part he caught on. It was strange to see it again after so many years.
Movies have really come a long way.
