The Cabin
We are selling our beloved log cabin in Goshen, CT and I set about cleaning it up a bit this afternoon. My DH spent the afternoon with the kids in the pool and took them home early giving me some alone time with the mop, laundry and the CD he made me of my favorite American Idol songs.
It is so beautiful here right now.
I took a glance out the window and saw a little family of geese on the lawn. Just one little gosling. An only child. Then I started thinking about habitat reduction and global warming and the whole nine yards.
Then then next minute I looked up and I saw this.
Now I’m thinking there must be something in the water.
On another note, this morning I took Speed and some friends of ours to the White Memorial Conservation Park in Litchfield, CT. There is a fabulous boardwalk that takes you around a pond over the wetlands, over bridges, past lagoons, through thick berry bushes and walls of swaying reeds. I love going there. It takes about a half hour to get around.
Speed found a pair of White Swans nesting, plenty of fish and a Gray-Blue Heron (especially exciting as that is his nature name although he calls it a Great Blue Heron!)
Next weekend I plan to take just Speed and see if we can walk it silently.
