CT Homeschoolers Conference
Who knew there were enough CT homeschoolers to have a conference! This years conference is happening June 6th in Waterbury, CT.
I am interested in checking out a few things. Firstly I want to know about co-op’s. Every now and again you hear people talking about belonging to a co-op and I’m not talking about their local Farmer’s Market! I believe a co-op is a group of homeschoolers who organize a series of classes in a day run either by professionals or knowledgeable parents. If you are a member of a “classical” co-op, there may be classes in Latin, memorization, logical reasoning and chess perhaps? These could be topics that you might not want to cover yourself in your homeschool. (Just guessing!)
I like the idea of co-ops as the children get to meet new people and take classes with friends. I like the idea of getting together with like minded mothers and doing many classes in the one place.
I am also interested in hearing about incorporating dance into the homeschooling experience and volunteering and community service ideas.
The conference is CT Homeschool Network’s annual event to reach out to homeschooling familes, and also encourage new families to give homeschooling a try. There are 25 small panel sessions, 2 keynote speeches and about 10 local vendors. So…there is something for everyone!
It will be my first homeschooling conference.

The June 6th conference will be held in Waterbury, CT. It is conveniently located off I-84 via exit 25-A at the Crosby High School. The price is only $15 for adults and $10 for children. Plenty of on-site / free parking.
Anyone wishing more information can go to our website at http://www.cthomeschoolnetwork.org and download a registration form. Or email me at President@cthomeschoolnetwork.org to ask questions. This will be a small, cozy and local conference with a nice combination of vendors, keynotes and experienced parents in small and informal panel discussions.
