A Musical Silver Lining

As you know Chuckles broke her arm. She can still move her fingers. I thought we would cancel piano lessons for the month of May.  But instead we decided to keep the lessons going.

Our piano teacher is also a voice teacher and accompanies people singing on the piano so we thought we could use this opportunity for her to try playing and singing together.  We thought that if Chuckles had a favorite song we could download the music and she could learn to play it and possibly sing it at the Spring concert in June.

Instead of relaxing with the music practice we thought we would ramp it up and I would make sure she practiced everyday and got really comfortable with the song.

We chose Butterfly, Fly Away, a new song that it is in the Hannah Montana movie.  I went to www.musicnotes.com and downloaded the music in an easy key for her to play it in, hoping she would be able to sing it in that key also.

It couldn’t have been easier to download.  You can even listen to the music playing on the web if you download their free music player… in any key!  I was impressed!  Chuckles had already downloaded the YouTube of Miley Cyrus singing it.

Wouldn’t I have loved that when I was a kid!

Just in case you haven’t heard the song…it is very pretty. It’s about a girl’s relationship with her Dad.
